What Came First?

Does health arise from beauty? Or does beauty arise from health? This is a bit like the what came first question, pertaining to the chicken and the egg.

In my mind, health and beauty are interrelated, one and the same. It is hard to have one without the existence of the other.

I also believe that both health and beauty can be arrived at by simply listening to our bodies and by calming our minds. Allowing our intuition to gently guide us towards the very core of our spiritual and physical nature.

A healthy body represents many things, certainly caring is one of the things. Caring for our bodies, I say, is caring for the temple.

It is not the beauty of an athlete or the grace of a dancer, that can only be achieved through rigorous work and extreme focus. Caring for our bodies is using that all too often ignored superpower: common sense.

Believe it or not, I believe that breathing is one of the simplest ways to achieve both health and beauty. Physical beauty through our expression of calm, and inner beauty form radiating our serene awareness.

There is no need to spend time or money when it is within our own selves to simply decide that we want beauty in our life…simply begin by breathing. Take moments in your day to practice your breathing regimen and see how this self-aware ritual will bring forth noticeable, healthy, and enduring beauty.

It is caring for yourself that makes you healthy and beautiful.
