The Well of Inspiration

The well of inspiration - where does it begin and where does it end?

Whether you’re a self-defined “creative” or not, the fact of the matter is that the well is always in flux. Somedays it’s overflowing, other days it feels as though there’s nothing to draw from. In times like this, how do you get out of your rut? How do you find inspiration - or does inspiration find you?

One of our favorite weekly rituals is pulling imagery for our “BuDhaBrief.” The best (and most challenging) part is that whether we are feeling inspired or not, it’s a creative practice that we are committed to. That’s what creativity is about. Creativity is a practice. A muscle. To build more creativity, you must exercise your creativity. It’s all about flexing your creative muscle whether you’re in the mood or not.

Imagine your creativity as a habit… a ritual… as essential as your morning coffee and your nightly bath. How does this change your approach to creativity? The result of your creativity? How does the concept of creative ritual maintain the level in your well of inspiration?
