Three of Us

It would be so simple if we were one-dimensional beings. We could spend our lives discovering and maybe eventually even mastering that one dimension. But we are not…one-dimensional.

We are a trinity. We exist in three dimensions that we hardly understand.

Our physical dimension seems to be the most real to us especially with the advent of modern science. We feel reassured in our physicality because we feel we can prove things in our physical dimension. There is a “logical” explanation to why things are the way they are. Therefore, if science, the media, parents, friends tell us things about our physical selves, then it must be true.

if you have read the book “The Four Agreements” then you will understand our mental dimension maybe a tad better. If you haven’t read this book…read it. Our mental dimension is a state of things we have learned. Good and bad…but perhaps not right for us, for who we are, for how we feel, and for what we want to do and who we want to be. Some of this learning is already pre-set in our genetics, in other words, we are born with certain predispositions. If you are content with your mental condition, lucky you. If you are not, it is up to you to change.

Last yet certainly not least is our spiritual dimension. This dimension is wrought with controversy because as I heard it once said: “Everyone wants to tell you about their religion, no one wants to hear about yours.” Spirituality and religion are not the same thing, but in the world as we know it they tend to go hand in hand. True spirituality has certain qualities; it is free, it is disciplined, it is curious, it understands the concept of “oneness”, it will not harm, it will not judge, it knows connectedness, and it loves.
