The Future Me

Alright so after promoting the importance of living in the now and in the moment, I am going to delve into something that we can’t help doing: Planning, and “picture walking” into the future.

For me the past is the past, there is no expectation. There are lessons to be learned from the past, but the past is like a music note that once played in a song, has served its purpose.

The future, on the other hand, is full of curiosity, the “what’s next” is a powerful calling. The future is intangible at times but nonetheless irresistible because it holds growth, change, and possibility. The future is part of who we are to become, even in the eventuality of ceasing to be.

Self-help gurus and life-coaches are always advocating for us to make plans, to picture ourselves in the place where we want to be, doing what we love, with the people we love around us…and I think that’s great…except for one thing: Losing ourselves to the future and forgetting the now.

So, in 2020, what will be the future you? What are your dreams, goals, and aspirations? Remember, a goal without a plan is just a wish. Tangibly bring your attention to each day, live each day with the enjoyment that will lead you to your destination; live in the journey. Savor the highs and recover from the lows. You are not alone; we are all in this together.

I wish all of you joy, health and wealth always. I am thankful to all of you who take the time to read my words. I write with the hope of bringing a smile to your face and building a tribe of strong, compassionate, alluring, exciting, kind, thoughtful, crazy great BuDhaGirls.
