The Beautiful State of Wonder

I often think about the many qualities of beauty and have concluded that perhaps the most enduring kind of beauty is curiosity… in other words, wonder.

There is nothing more charming than a person that is truly interested in you, in the world around them, in the spirit, in what makes us human.

Children are innately curious, they have to be in order to learn and, really to survive and mature. A truly curious adult is a treasure.

The ability of a person to be genuinely interested (not fakey) in a conversation, listening intently with curiosity and with an open heart and mind is a person who will be cherished by friends, family and society because without saying a word they are already contributing.

Those who allow themselves to wonder are never alone even in solitude. Everything around them is worth exploring, from the sumptuous to the simple. They allow beauty to be as it is, wondering how it could exist?… who created it?… and how lucky they are to be in that presence.

My old pal Socrates said: Wisdom begins in wonder.

So, my beautiful BuDhaGirls, go out into this great big amazing world and wonder to your hearts content. Share your wonder.

(But of course you knew to share…you are a BuDhaGirl.)

Hugs,

Jessica
